Who knew something so powerful would boil down to something so simple…choice? Each day of our lives we make tons of choices…many of them are small, minute, unnoticeable. But then there are those which are earthshattering…momentous…life changing…and we never forget them.
Despite our inability to see with the human eye, our choices are connected and each of them hold meaning…purpose…and it’s all by design. For some, this news may be intriguing or even thrilling. But for others…the overthinkers…the planners…this can be overwhelming.

Who we are and who we have yet to become is a direct reflection of our choices in life or a result of the choices we were afraid to make along the way. Nevertheless, we stand as a product of the inner workings of our mind and bundled emotions of our heart.

As we learned from our history books, tens of thousands of slaves claimed their own lives by jumping from ships as a declaration of choosing freedom over enslavement. Live was happening to them with the men and their chains, guns, and illusion or perceived power. But even in the face of wickedness and torture, they refused to be a victim and welcomed their power of choice.

The battles we face in today’s society are not nearly as detrimental as slavery, and yet we continue to find ourselves immobile, frightened, and unsure of what to do. We continue to find ourselves too afraid to make the wrong decision. We find ourselves too careful, thinking through every scenario, and years pass just for us to find ourselves stuck in the same circumstances in fear of the unknown.
